KUALA LUMPUR: Independent men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani showed maturity as they upset former world No. 1 Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto to reach the Arctic Open semi-finals in Vantaa, Finland today.
World No. 8 Sze Fei-Izzuddin secured a hard-fought 23-21, 19-21, 22-20 win over the world No. 6 Indonesians in 72 minutes, continuing their splendid run on the World Tour.
It was the Malaysians' second consecutive victory over Fajar-Rian.
In August, Sze Fei-Izzuddin defeated the Indonesians in the quarter-finals en route to their victory at the Super 750 Japan Open.
The Malaysian pair is feeling confident in Finland, aiming for another title after their success at the Super 1000 China Open three weeks ago.
They will face either China's top seeds Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang or Malaysia's Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun tomorrow.
