KUALA LUMPUR: Goh Jin Wei's struggles on the World Tour continued as she crashed out in the first round of the Super 750 China Masters — her sixth consecutive early exit.
The world No. 41 fell to Canada's Michelle Li, who proved too strong in a 21-18, 21-16 victory in 41 minutes at Shenzhen Gymnasium on Tuesday.
The tournament marked Jin Wei's return to competitive action after a two-month break — her last appearance being at the Super 1000 China Open in September.
Jin Wei's form has been dismal, with just two match wins across 12 tournaments this year.
The 23-year-old failed to progress beyond the first round in 10 of those events, leaving her desperate to turn things around.
