MUSA pledge to settle players' salary arrears

MELAKA: The Melaka United Soccer Association (MUSA) have not paid their players for three months, but the Super League side have promised to settle all arrears soon.

MUSA deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi said several steps are being taken to ensure their players get paid.

“We will not only settle the three months we owe, but will also make sure their salaries for November are paid as we do not want this matter to prolong,” said Yusoff.

“I had a fruitful discussion with (Melaka) Menteri Besar Adly Zahari, who is also the president of MUSA, recently and I believe the matter will be solved as soon as possible.”

“We want to settle everything before the start of the new season.”

Melaka ended their season on a high by hammering Felda United 6-1 in their final Malaysia Cup Group B match at the Hang Jebat Stadium here on Saturday.

However, E. Elavarasan’s side failed to advance to the quarter-finals, finishing third in the group with nine points.
