KUALA LUMPUR: Perak coach Mehmet Durakovic is confident ahead of the two-leg Malaysia Cup quarter-final clash against PKNS next week despite ending their Group A campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Felcra at KLFA Stadium in Cheras on Saturday.
Perak and Terengganu, who were edged 3-2 by KL, finished with 10 points each but the latter won the group on goal difference.
Durakovic said the defeat to Felcra was an unfair result as his side dominated the match.
“I made some changes to give my fringe players a chance to shine. We created many chances, but clearly it wasn’t our night.
“The Felcra goalkeeper also played very well to deny us more goals.
“However, I am happy with the players’ performance,” said Durakovic.
Felcra netted through Dzulfahmi Abdul Hadi (38th minute) and Abdul Azim Rahim (79th), while Gilmar Filho (76th) responded for Perak.
On PKNS, Durakovic added: “PKNS are a great team... they have good local and foreign players. It will be a tough two-leg tie and we will give our best to win.”
