Perak record second win, Indra scores 100th goal

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak recorded their second Super League win of the season when they hammered Perak SEDC 4-0 in a local derby match in Manjung on Saturday.

The visitors took only 13 minutes to net their opening goal through Australian-born Brendan Gan before Brazilian Gilmar Filho extended their lead after 30 minutes.

Perak SEDC also failed to contain Perak after the breather with captain Shahrul Saad (56th minute) and Da Silva (86th) completing the rout.

With the win, Perak maintained eighth position with 13 points, three more than ninth-placed Perak SEDC.

In Shah Alam, Kpah Sherman scored a brace to inspire PKNS to a 3-2 victory over Kuala Lumpur.

Liberian Sherman netted in the 30th and 78th minutes to compliment Colombian Romel Morales’ goal in the opening minute for PKNS.

Indra Putra Mahayuddin scored his 100th goal in the Super League with a beautiful strike in the 41st minute for KL while Brazilian Guilherme de Paula netted the other nine minutes from the final whistle. Indra is the first player to net 100 goals in the Super League, which incepted in 2004.

Terengganu also nicked all three points after fighting back from a goal down to edge PJ City FC 2-1 at the MBPJ Stadium.

PJ City led 1-0 thanks to defender P. Rajes’ 36th-minute goal. Terengganu, however, bounced back after the break to level through a B. Tinagaran own goal in the 67th minute before Tchetche Kipre completed their comeback with the winner in the 79th minute.

In the Premier League, Zarko Korac netted a hat-trick as a rampant Universiti Teknologi Mara FC (UiTM FC) thrashed hosts Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) 5-0.

Korac scored in the 30th, 54th and 55th minutes while Syed Ariff Syed Uzir (22nd) and Robert Mendy (50th) chipped in with one goal apiece.

Terengganu FC II edged Negeri Sembilan 1-0, courtesy of a Bruno Zuki second-minute goal.

South Korean Lee Chang Hoon’s 51st-minute strike was enough for Police to gun down Sarawak 1-0 for only their second win of the season at the State Stadium in Kuching.
