Former Melaka players Raimi Md Noor and Shukor Adan have claimed that they have yet to receive their two-month salary arrears from the Super League side.
The 33-year-old Raimi is puzzled as the Melaka United Soccer Association (Musa) have started paying back-dated salaries to players who they have retained for the new season.
“They are only paying players who are still with them.
“We have lodged reports with the FA of Malaysia and the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia for further action,” said Raimi on his Instagram account.
“Coach Zainal Abidin Hassan should take responsibility and make sure everyone is paid. Musa did send letters to those affected stating that all arrears will be settled by the end of the month.
“I checked with Musa recently, but they could not commit as to when they can settle the arrears.”
Raimi claimed that even newly appointed Kuala Lumpur coach Nidzam Adha Yusof is in the same boat together with 11 other former players.
Former captain Shukor, who refused to play for Melaka in the closing stages of the Malaysia Cup last season due to salary issues, hopes the team will keep their promise.
“We will wait for another two or three days. I have sent a letter to them, and I hope they will follow up on it.
“Coach Zainal should also push Musa to pay those who have not been retained,” said Shukor.
