MFL eyes new broadcasting deals

THE Malaysian Football League (MFL) are set to seal new broadcasting deals for the Super League, Premier League, FA Cup, Malaysia Cup and Challenge Cup.

MFL, the organisers of the professional game in the country, are in the final stages of negotiations with the various media.

However, MFL intend to have a shared broadcast instead of just one specific broadcaster.

They also want to ensure that, just like in previous seasons, every top flight match of the Super League, will be shown.

Following the symbolic launch of the 2020 M-League season, MFL President Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said he is confident that the new broadcasting deal will be done soon.

“We are in the process of finalising it, and an announcement can be expected by February.

“We are hopeful that the M-League will be available on both free and pay TV.”

The Super League will start on Feb 28 with reigning champions Johor Darul Ta’zim facing Kedah at the new Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in a match that also doubles up as the Charity Shield.
