KELANA JAYA: The M-League, together with all lower-tier and youth football competitions, will be postponed indefinitely after this weekend's proceedings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The FA of Malaysia confirmed this today after an emergency meeting with their stakeholders, sponsors and the National Sports Institute.
This weekend's matches, involving the Super League, Premier League, M3 League, M4 League, Youth Cup and the National Futsal League, will be played behind closed doors.
And all football competitions under FAM and the Malaysia Football League (MFL) will be postponed from March 16 until further notice.
"This is in line with the Health Ministry's advice to avoid all mass gatherings.
"Safety is paramount and our goal is to avoid the spread of the virus among players and officials,” said FAM president Datuk Hamidin Amin at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya today.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has also directed all sport and curriculum activities to be postponed.
This includes the National Sports Schools Council's (MSSM) competitions next week.
