KUALA LUMPUR: Former national footballer Khalid Jamlus has decided to part with his football prizes and awards, including his Golden Boot.
A web portal reported yesterday that Khalid has put them up for sale on Facebook.
Khalid, 43, who used to play for Perak, stated that he wanted to sell his Golden Boot, which he won in the 2002 M-League season for being top scorer, for RM10,500.
Netizens had asked why would Khalid want to sell his glorious collection of football honours, which has so much
sentimental value.
Apart from the Golden Boot, Khalid is also selling his medals, jerseys and posters.
After reading of Khalid's plight, Deputy Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal urged the former international to meet him next week.
