Tough side of Hodak on video

Bojan Hodak is back again in front of the camera for a TV show after a 14-year absence.

In 2007, the Croatian was the head coach of the reality TV-backed football outfit — MyTeam 2 — in Malaysia's Premier League.

The burly Hodak, who is the current Kuala Lumpur City coach, is being featured in a fly-on-the-wall TV documentary involving the City Boys.

A teaser of the documentary showing Hodak, 50, berating his players during a training session, has garnered 20,000 views after being posted online on Tuesday.

The respected coach revealed that the documentary was part of their commitments to one of their sponsors.

"The video is a part of a documentary involving the team. I wasn't keen to be part of it, but the people involved in the shooting were very professional. It didn't interrupt my training sessions, so I loosened up.

"Things were different with MyTeam before this... this is a documentary that shows what happens in a football team.

"The video of a coaching session was put online, I was shouting at a player because he didn't follow instruction. I think it's quite normal in football... sometimes you have to be a bit nasty."

In the mid-season transfer window, KL City have strengthened their team by signing Nigerian striker Kyrian Nwabueza and Malaysian-Australian midfielder Ryan Lambert. Earlier, they secured the services of Perak midfielder D. Kenny Palraj and winger J. Parthiban.

KL, promoted from the Premier League, is currently sixth in the 12-team Super League.
