KUALA LUMPUR: KL City and Sarawak United both advanced to the Malaysia Cup quarter-finals after winning their respective matches on Sunday.
KL edged Penang 1-0 in their Group A clash at KLFA Stadiun in Cheras, while Sarawak United overcame Sri Pahang 2-1 at Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan.
KL's Romel Morales converted a spot kick in the 38th minute for his eighth goal in the Malaysia Cup.
KL lead the group with 11 points from five matches.
In Kuantan, the Elephants took the lead through Kenjok Athiu in the 14th minute.
However, the Golden Hornbills hit back through Sandro Da Silva (31st minute) and substitute Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak (91st).
E. Elavarasan's side are second in the group with 10 points, followed by Pahang on six.
Selangor, meanwhile, were defeated 3-1 by Terengganu in a Group B match at the MBPJ Stadium.
The Turtles scored through Abdul Faisal Halim in the 15th minute and Jordan Mintah in the 72nd and 90th minutes.
The Red Giants got their consolation through Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi in the 83rd minute.
Both Terengganu and Selangor have qualified for the quarter-finals.
