KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia started as favourites but had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Singapore in their Sea Games Group B match at Thien Truong Stadium in Hanoi today.
Brad Maloney's boys, who had beaten Thailand and Laos earlier, had close to 20 shots at goal against the Singaporeans.
Malaysia took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute with a goal form Luqman Hakim Shamsudin but the Lions equalised three minutes later through Shah Shahiran.
The Young Tigers found themselves trailing 2-1 in the 78th minute after Singapore's Harhys Rizal Gareth Ian Stewart put one past Malaysia goalkeeper Azri Ghani.
However, Malaysia managed to find their equaliser in the 82nd minute through Faiz Amer.
With tensions running high, a fight broke out between players minutes before the final whistle but no cards were issued.
