KUALA LUMPUR: With RTM teaming up with MYTV, Malaysians can now watch Fifa World Cup football matches for free.
MYTV has become the official broadcast partner for RTM for the greatest show on Earth.
The special collaboration has enabled Malaysians to watch the Qatar World Cup for free, a move unmatched by others.
MYTV signed the live telecast partnership with RTM on Nov 10 at Angkasapuri. Attending the signing ceremony were MYTV Group CEO Mohamad Helmi Harith and RTM Director General of Broadcasting, Datuk Che Roslan Che Daud.
MYTV said in a statement: "With this signing, all Malaysians will be able to watch the World Cup for free on MYTV platform via channels TV2, Okey and Sukan RTM, all in high definition and uninterrupted digital quality."
There will be a total of 27 live World Cup matches as well as 14 delayed telecast shown over MYTV.
MYTV, which provides a free digital TV platform to Malaysians, is one of the National
Broadcasting Digitalisation Projects to transform the country's broadcasting industry and improve the living standards of Malaysians.
As a developer and operator of the infrastructure and network facilities for the Digital TV initiative in Malaysia, MYTV also provides access to more content applications for viewers and new opportunities for broadcasters.
