Sergio Aguero to play for Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Newly naturalised players Sergio Aguero and Lee Tuck have been called up for national training for the AFF Cup next month.

National coach Kim Pan Gon has picked 41 players in the preparation for friendly matches against Cambodia and Maldives.

However, 12 players from Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Pahang will not join the training due to personal reasons or injuries.

They are Matthew Davies, La'Vere Corbin-Ong, Shahrul Saad, Nazmi Faiz Mansor, Arif Aiman Hanapi, Akhyar Rashid, Syafiq Ahmad, Afiq Fazail and Syahmi Safari (all JDT) and Nor Azam Abdul Azih of Pahang.

The players (from JDT and Selangor) competing in the Malaysia Cup final on Nov 26 are allowed to report for the camp on Dec 5.

Malaysia will take on Cambodia at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Dec 9 before meeting the Maldives on Dec 14 at the KLFA Stadium.

Pan Gon's final 23-player squad will meet Myanmar in Yangon on Dec 21, Laos in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 24, Vietnam in Hanoi on Dec 27 and Singapore in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 3 in Group B of the AFF Cup.
