KUALA LUMPUR: Rugby legend Sonny Bill Williams is the latest international sports star to wish national footballer Faisal Halim a speedy recovery.
Faisal's club, Selangor FC, shared a short video message from the former All Blacks player on their social media pages last night.
Williams, a two-time World Cup winner, urged Faisal to "stay strong".
"Assalamualaikum, brother Faisal. Sonny Bill here. I just want to send you well wishes," said Williams, a devout Muslim.
"May Allah make it easy for you and your family. Sending my love and prayers.
"Stay strong. With hardship comes ease. And Inshaallah, the eases comes sooner rather than later. Take care."
Manchester United players Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho expressed support for Faisal last week.
Faisal sustained serious fourth-degree burns in a vicious acid attack on May 5.
He is being treated at a private hospital in Shah Alam and has undergone three operations.
