I will miss Pan Gon, says acid attack victim Faisal Halim

KUALA LUMPUR: National footballer Faisal Halim is affected by Kim Pan Gon's decision to resign as the Harimau Malaya coach.

On Instagram, Faisal, who is recovering from an acid attack, expressed his sadness over Pan Gon's decision, saying the South Korean was instrumental in shaping his playing style.

The winger mentioned that the last time he met Pan Gon was when he was in the hospital, recovering from the horrific acid attack, where the coach gave him words of encouragement.

"Very sad news. I remember him visiting me at the hospital two months ago. He gave me support and strength," he posted.

"The coach sat next to me and said, 'Faisal, I want to see you come back strong for Harimau Malaya.'"

Faisal is undergoing treatment after being attacked by individuals with acid in May.

The attack saw Faisal suffer fourth-degree burns and had to undergo four surgeries.

He has started light training but is still in rehab.
