KUALA LUMPUR: An altercation between Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) Arif Aiman Hanapi and Perak's Tommy Mawat Bada marred the Super League match at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium yesterday (Nov 10).
Tommy's attempt to impede winger Arif's run in the 84th minute resulted in both players losing their composure.
Arif, who was visibly frustrated, landed a punch on Tommy's face. Referee Razlan Joffri Ali flashed yellow cards to both players.
Footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, amassing over 27,000 views.
Amid the Arif-Tommy incident, JDT crushed Perak 5-0 with Brazilian Bergson scoring a hat-trick.
Romel Morales, Malaysia's naturalised forward, contributed two goals.
The resounding win extended JDT's lead at the top of the Super League standings to 11 points over second-place Selangor. Perak remained at seventh.
