MILAN: The Esposito family enjoyed a successful Sunday afternoon in Italian football, with the three brothers scoring five goals in two games in the country's top two tiers.
Sebastiano, the middle sibling at 22, was first off the mark, scoring Empoli's two opening goals in a 4-1 win at Hellas Verona to move them to ninth in the Serie A standings, while his two brothers were playing alongside each other for Spezia.
Francesco Pio, 19, opened the scoring, with oldest brother Salvatore, 24, later netting twice in a 5-0 win over Cittadella to keep Spezia third in Serie B, one point off the top two of Sassuolo and Pisa.
All three brothers were youth players at Inter Milan and both Sebastiano and Francesco Pio are currently on loan from the Serie A club, while Salvatore and Sebastiano previously played together at Ferrara club SPAL. - Reuters
