KUALA LUMPUR: Sri Pahang coach Fandi Ahmad slammed referee Ahmad Zuhadi Dzulkifli in his side's 3-1 loss to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Super League clash at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium yesterday.
The 62-year-old Singapore legend felt that Ahmad was unfair to his team as he showed three yellow cards to Pahang while no JDT players were booked despite often fouling Kpah Sherman.
He added that the referee was slow to refer to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and allowed the match to continue before awarding a penalty kick to JDT.
"What I find most unacceptable and to be frank, is the standard of officiating. Football felt more like rugby," said Fandi at a post-match press conference.
"This is not good for football. Winning and losing are part of the game, and we can accept defeat if it's fair. But I cannot accept officiating of this quality."
