JDT to face PSG in blockbuster friendly

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) could take on French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a friendly either this year or next, JDT owner Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has revealed.

"PSG 100 per cent. This year or next year, there will be many more short-term and long-term agreements between JDT and PSG.

"Tim Cahill and I will be going to Paris to finalise the deals," Tunku Mahkota Ismail said in response to a fan on X on Friday.

JDT's collaboration with PSG extends beyond the pitch, with discussions also covering various aspects of football development.

Earlier this month, Tunku Mahkota Ismail met a PSG delegation led by Daniel Markham, chief of staff to club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, where they reached an agreement in principle to establish a multi-club partnership.

The partnership will include collaborations with other football clubs under Qatar Sports Investments, focusing on grassroots development, infrastructure, branding, and the sharing of expertise and technology.
