Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang to grace NPC golf tournament

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will participate in the National Press Club (NPC) Malaysia golf event at Tropicana Golf and Country Resort on Nov 26.

This will be the first time a Royal couple participate in an event organised by the National Press Club of Malaysia.

In previous NPC golf events, the guest of honour was either the then prime minister or the deputy prime minister.

The tournament, which is expected to attract 120 participants, is being organised after a break of seven years, and is aimed at strengthening the relationship among the NPC, the government, corporate sectors and the media.

"In past years, the NPC held this golf event annually," said its president Datuk Ahirudin Attan.

"Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to put this on hold. With the pandemic now behind us, we have revived this event.

"We hope to include in our list of participants, cabinet ministers, foreign dignitaries, captains of industries, senior editors past and present, journalists and other professionals," he added.

This golf event will have three categories: Men, Ladies and Seniors. The Senior category will be for golfers sixty-five years and above.

There will be plenty of lucky draw prizes and each participant will walk away with a goodie bag.

Registration forms are now available at the NPC clubhouse at 84, Jalan Tangsi, off Jalan Parlimen or contact 012-632 0061. Entry fee is RM450 for NPC members and RM600 for non-members.
