BDB Masters Golf Championship rescheduled due to severe flooding in Kedah

ALOR STAR: The Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB) Masters Golf Championship 2024 has been rescheduled to Jan 3 to 5 next year, following severe flooding in Kedah.

In a statement today, BDB expressed regret over the decision to postpone the golf tournament, initially planned for Dec 6 to 8, at the Darulaman Golf and Country Club.

"Ensuring the safety and well-being of our participants and staff remains our top priority. The current weather conditions make it unsafe to proceed as planned. The event has now been rescheduled to Jan 3 to 5 next year. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you on the new dates," it said.

Earlier, BDB announced the cancellation of its Jitra Half Marathon, scheduled for yesterday, due to adverse weather conditions and flooding affecting the Kubang Pasu district and surrounding areas.

BDB also announced the temporary closure of Darulaman Park Lake to the public due to the floods and ongoing clean-up efforts. The park was closed on Friday and will remain so until further notice.
