KUALA LUMPUR: Nazrien brothers, Disairul Fazrien Muhammad Nazrien and Rahuul Fazrien Muhammad Nazrien, are determined to lead Perak to victory in the Sarawak Sukma men's hockey final against Pahang in Kuching tomorrow.
Perak last won gold in the 2014 Kangar edition.
Rahuul, 17, expressed pride in representing Perak alongside his elder brother, Disairul, 21.
"We will go all out to score and help Perak win the final," said Rahuul.
The brothers also play for TNB Thunderbolts in the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL).
"Disairul, who plays in midfield, is a big inspiration for me. He was called up to the national junior training squad last month and recently went on a playing tour to Australia with the team.
"I also aspire to become a national player one day and hope to continue my scoring streak in every match I play," said Rahuul, who has scored two goals in four matches in Kuching so far.
Disairul said: "In the 2022 Sukma in KL, Perak won bronze. This is my last Sukma, and I want to go all out to score against Pahang in the final and secure the gold."
