KUALA LUMPUR: Australia's Territory Stingers (men and women's teams) will compete in the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) from Jan 4 to Feb 22 next year.
The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) and Hockey Northern Territory (HNT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday which will see Territory Stingers (men and women) compete in the MHL from 205 to 2028.
The other foreign teams competing in next year's MHL are China's Liaoning (men and women).
The MoU was signed by MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and Hockey Northern Territory chief executive officer Jason Butcher.
Subahan said the participation of Territory Stingers will make the MHL more competitive and interesting.
"Liaoning's men and women's teams are also excited to compete in our league again. China's women's team are playing well in international tournaments and Liaoning have many national players.
"Clubs from India and Indonesia have requested to compete in the MHL. However, the competition committee restricted participation to two foreign teams," said Subahan.
