KUALA LUMPUR: HockAdemy club president Datuk Seri Megat D. Shahriman Zaharudin is irked that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association's (KLHA), scheduled to be held today, has been postponed.
Megat, who is challenging incumbent I. Vikneswaran for the KLHA president's post, said the postponement would not have happened with efficient supervision.
"I'm really disappointed. If you already know that the document is incomplete (auditing), why do you want to hold an AGM?" he said.
On Thursday, KLHA stated that it has not yet received the audited account from its external auditor, and it is advised that legally, KLHA is not in a position to hold an AGM.
Megat, who was also KLHA president in 2019-2022, said: "We're still ready to contest in all seats ahead of the new date for the AGM.
"We want to work with all 14 other state hockey associations as well as empower the national hockey sport in helping the Malaysian Hockey Confederation."
