KUALA LUMPUR: Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton made a pit stop at a school in Kuala Lumpur today while on his way to Melbourne for next week's Australian GP.
The Mercedes AMG Petronas ace gave the students of SMK Seri Keramat a pleasant surprise.
Marking Petronas' 50th anniversary, Hamilton's visit was part of the "Towards Sustainable Communities" programme, a collaboration between the school's Teacher-Parent Association and Petrosains.
Briton Hamilton was accompanied by several crew members of his F1 team who joined in the celebrations.
The seven-time world champion is the most successful driver in F1 history with 103 wins and 104 pole positions.
