Waterskier Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah is ready to get back into action after a two-year lapse.
The 18-year-old's last competition was at the Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia, in 2020 before the Covid-19 outbreak.
Now, two years later, Aaliyah is set to go back to where she last left off — the Moomba Masters on March 9-14.
Aaliyah said she is excited to participate in the Moomba event, which is an invitation-only competition for the world's top skiers.
It will also be her 10th time participating in the competition since her debut in 2013 at the age of nine.
Aaliyah will feature in the tricks, slalom and jump events in both the junior and open categories.
She aims to improve on her 2020 result, where she won just the tricks gold in the junior category.
"Two years have been a long time. I hope that I am not competition rusty after being out of it for so long," said Aaliyah.
With this being Aaliyah's last year in the junior category, she hopes to go out with a bang with an eye on the top prize in the tricks and overall.
She is also targeting a podium finish in the jump event.
In the tricks open category, the youngster is aiming for a top five finish with her previous best a seventh place.
