KUALA LUMPUR: SEA Games champion Nor Sarah Adi has set a "not too ambitious" target in her first ever indoor pole vault event.
Though she has a personal best of 4m (outdoor), the 22-year-old from Pahang hopes to clear 3.80m in the Taiwan International Indoor meet on March 22-23.
Nor Sarah admitted that she has never taken part or trained in the indoor event before.
"The Taiwan International Open will be my first indoor meet, and I will be competing against some of Asia's best pole vaulters.
"I am all excited. Although it will be my first indoor competition, I will be more than happy if I can clear 3.80m in Taiwan," said Nor Sarah, who is pursuing a degree in Communication at the Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Last year, Nor Sarah who was a sprinter, surprised everyone by winning the gold at the Hanoi Sea Games despite competing in the pole vault for the first time at international level.
"I don't have any indoor venue to train in Kuala Lumpur and I still train outdoors. I will still use the same runup like I do for outdoor events," said Nor Sarah, who is coached by Manshahar Abdul Jalil at Bukit Jalil.
Nor Sarah said she will also use the meet in Taiwan as part of her preparations for the Phnom Penh Sea Games in May.
