KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Datuk Rosyam Nor believes that not all divorces should be seen as negative. The 57-year-old award-winning actor suggests that, in some cases, divorce might be a path for individuals to find their own happiness.
"From what I've observed, some people find happiness after a divorce," Rosyam said. "Perhaps they couldn't find that happiness with their spouses anymore."
When asked about the recent wave of celebrity divorces, he said that splitting up isn't something people plan for at the beginning of a marriage. "It's fate. Who are we to predict what's in store when we get married?"
Although Rosyam has enjoyed 38 years of marriage, he remains humble about its future. "At my age, I can't say for certain that nothing could break us apart. If God wills it, who are we to avoid our fate?"
Rosyam was speaking from the set of Susuk Bidadari in Genting Highlands, where he plays a politician who lost an election. "It's like KJ becoming a DJ, but my character doesn't," he joked, referring to Khairy Jamaluddin's new career.
Rosyam married Datin Runika Mohd Yusof in 1989, and they have five daughters.
