KUALA LUMPUR: As the Hangzhou Asian Games come to a close tomorrow, China have surpassed their record of 199 gold medals won at the 2010 Guangzhou edition.
By today, the hosts have amassed a mind-boggling 200 gold medals and are on track to their 11th straight overall Asiad title.
China have raked in a total of 381 medals, consisting of 200 gold, 110 silver and 71 bronze.
Japan were a distant second with 51 gold, 66 silver and 69 bronze while South Korea were third with 42 gold, 59 silver and 89 bronze.
Completing the top five in the medal standings were India (28-38-41) and Uzbekistan (21-18-31).
Malaysia were further down at 14th with six gold, eight silver and 18 bronze for a total of 32 medals.
