KUALA LUMPUR: Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec's laid-back style when compared to his rivals at the Paris Olympics has made him an instant hit on social media.
Dikec teammed up with Sevval Ilayda Tarhan to secure Turkiye the silver medal in the 10 metre air pistol mixed team event earlier this week.
Unlike his opponents, Dikec, 51, does not use specialised glasses nor ear protection. To top it off, he also shoots with one hand in his pocket, in a simple team issued T-shirt.
This has led to netizens, in jest, questioning whether Dikec is "actually a hitman" while another compared heavily equipped South Korean Kim Yeji with "random Turkish dad" Dikec.
The Paris games was Dikec's fifth appearance at the Olympics since 2008 though this is the first time he has won a medal.
