Wushu champ Bryan aims to go off with a bang

KUALA LUMPUR: World Junior wushu champion Bryan Ti aims to end his third and last Malaysia Games (Sukma), starting tomorrow in Kuching, with a bang.

The Melaka athlete eyes two gold in three events - nanquan (free hand), nandao (sword) and nangun (stick). Bryan won one gold in nanquan at the 2022 Sukma.

At the 2022 World Junior meet in Tangerang, Indonesia, Bryan bagged two gold, in nangun and duilian, and a silver in nandao.

Bryan, 20, who is in the national Pelapis, squad, said: "I'm in high spirit to perform and deliver two gold in the Sukma.

"I have not competed in any competitions this year, but I went for two weeks of training in Anhui, China, in June.

"I know my exponents will be going all out to stop me from dominating the events, but I'm in the best form of my career," said Bryan who hopes to compete in next year's Sea Games in Thailand.
