Todak recover from sluggish start to reach MPLMY semi-finals

JOHOR BARU: Some small mistakes and a weak early game almost caused Todak to be sent home early at the play-in stage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) playoffs today.

In a tight see-saw battle, the three-time MPLMY champions edged Monster Vicious 3-2 in front of 2,200 fans at the Indoor Stadium at the EduCity Sports Complex in Iskandar Puteri.

Series Most Valuable Player (MVP) Zaed Hakimi "Zahyed" Zaharan said they had planned to win 3-0, but the match quickly turned into a tight affair.

"We lost Game 2 and 4 because of minor mistakes and a weak early game. Because of that we were unable to recover.

"We had deep discussions and went back to our usual rotations, and that helped us achieve victory.

"I want to thank my teammates for their support, as without them I won't be named MVP," said the 20-year-old Jungler in a post-match press conference.

Todak will face Mid Season Cup champions Selangor Red Giants in the upper-bracket semi-finals tomorrow.

Tactical coach Saiful Aujang said they are ready to face the regular season table toppers.

"We sacrificed our time off to prepare for this playoff stage, and we want to head to the M6 World Championships.

"No matter what the result is tomorrow, we will fight our hardest to make it to the Grand Finals," he said.

The two teams in Sunday's Grand Finals will represent Malaysia at the M6 World Championships at Axiata Arena next month.
