SRG take revenge and enter MPLMY Grand Finals

JOHOR BARU: Selangor Red Giants (SRG) exacted revenge against Todak to book a Grand Finals appearance in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) playoffs tonight (Nov 2).

Yesterday (Nov 1), Todak had toppled Mid Season Cup champions SRG 3-1 in the upper bracket semi-finals at the EduCity Sports Complex in Iskandar Puteri.

Todak then advanced to the upper-bracket finals but lost 3-1 to Team Vamos in today's first match.

At the other end, SRG beat Red Esports 3-0 in the lower bracket semi-finals to set up the rematch with Todak.

And SRG did not lack confidence in the reamatch as they easily won 3-0 against a dispirited Todak.

SRG head coach Michael Angelo "Arcadia" Bocado said they did some experimenting against Todak in the upper bracket semis and were punished for it.

"This time, we knew how to handle them and we are happy to be back to the grand finals and qualify for the M6," said Michael Angelo in a post-match interview.

SRG jungler Haqqullah "Sekys" Ahmad Shahrul Zaman was named the series' Most Valuable Player.

The victory sees SRG booking the last ticket to the M6 World Championships at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil later this month.

Tomorrow, SRG will play Vamos as they bid to become the first team in MPLMY history to win back-to-back titles. Both teams met in Week 3 of the regular season with SRG comfortably winning 2-0.

However, Vamos have looked like a different animal in these playoffs. They have yet to be truly challenged by Red or Todak on their way to booking the first ticket to the M6.

"Vamos is a competitive team, but we're fully confident going up against them.

Historically, we have a good record against them," Michael Angelo added.
