Kamala Harris leads Trump with 2pct margin ahead of election

MOSCOW: US Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has a two percent lead over her Republican opponent, former president Donald Trump, less than a month before the presidential election, according to a Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll, reported Sputnik.

"After weighting by respondents' self-declared likelihood to vote, 48pct of Americans say they will vote for Kamala Harris, while 46pct say they will vote for Donald Trump," the Tuesday poll revealed.

Four percent of respondents indicated they were unsure about their preferred candidate.

When asked which candidate is more likely to win the November election, 42pct chose Harris, while 38pct believed Trump was more likely to secure a second term in the White House. Meanwhile, 12pct of respondents considered the upcoming presidential race a "toss-up," according to the poll.

The survey was conducted on Oct 6 among 2,300 US respondents. The margin of error was not provided by the pollster.

The United States will hold local, state, and federal elections on Nov 5. - BERNAMA
