GDB bags RM865.7m contract to build logistics hub in Shah Alam

KUALA LUMPUR: GDB Holdings Bhd (GDB) has secured its second contract to build a logistics hub worth RM865.7 million in Seksyen 15, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The construction company said its wholly-owned subsidiary Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd accepted the letter of award from Strategic Sonata Sdn Bhd.

The company scope as the main contractor encompasses designing, constructing, and maintaining a five-storey ramp-up warehouse with offices, amenities, and supporting facilities.

The 30-month contract is slated to commence in June 2024 and is targeted for completion in December 2026.

"Winning our second contract to build a logistics hub reinforces our position as a diverse construction company with expertise across a vast range of buildings. Also, this new win boosts our outstanding current order book to RM1.2billion, providing us with sustained work until 2026," group managing director Cheah Ham Cheia said in a statement.

GDB's share price closed higher at 33 sen, increase 1.5 sen or 4.8 per cent, valuing the company at RM309.4 million.
