KUALA LUMPUR: After dropping a couple of hints via video clips on their YouTube channel, international K-Pop sensation BlackPink will be performing in its first ever online concert on Dec 27.
The highly-anticipated event organised by the girl group's agency, YG Entertainment, is simply titled BlackPink: The Show.
The concert, which is done in partnership with YouTube Music, will be streamed live on Dec 27 at 2pm KST (1pm Malaysian time).
According to Soompi, the upcoming online concert will mark the launch of YG Entertainment's new concert brand, Palm Stage, named after the idea of a concert fitting in the palm of a viewer's hand.
The comely quartet talked about the concert earlier today in a livestreamed event, titled BlackPink – The Show Announcement Live, on YouTube.
Fans, dubbed Blinks, can catch the online virtual concert on their PCs or smartphones by purchasing a one-time payment membership on the group's YouTube channel.
BlackPink completed its first world tour in February prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and the eventual lockdowns and restrictions.
Since then the popular music outfit has been confined to South Korea for all of its promotional activities.
In October, BlackPink dropped its first full-length studio release, The Album, which was an instant success that spawned hits such as How You Like That, Ice Cream featuring Selena Gomez and Lovesick Girls.
