#SHOWBIZ: Dolla to be reborn at debut concert [WATCH]

DESPITE having made its debut at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysian girl group Dolla has proven its worth.

In just a few years, Dolla — which began as a quartet — has created more than just a ripple in the world of music.

The band has been acknowledged in other parts of the globe, all thanks to trendy music and slick dance moves.

Having recently announced the sudden departure of one of its members, Syasya, the group continues to thrive, thanks to the support of fans known as iDollas and its music label, Universal Music Malaysia (UMM).

With such love fuelling its own ambitions, Dolla is set to unveil another milestone in its career with its much-awaited upcoming debut concert, which will be produced by Hitman Solutions.

"At UMM, we're thrilled to announce Dolla's concert, which is a testament to the girls' incredible journey and hard work," shares UMM managing director Kim Lim.

MILESTONE MOMENT

"This concert will showcase the group's dedication and talent, representing a significant milestone in our label's mission to elevate the local music scene and bring Malaysian artistes onto the international stage.

"I'm truly proud of Dolla's achievements and the tireless efforts of our team behind the group in making this concert a reality.

"Together, we're not only reviving girl groups in Malaysia, but also setting new standards for regional exports" elaborates Lim excitedly.

The chief executive officer and founder of Hitman Solutions, Rohit Rampal, adds: "Eager to spotlight our local talent, we hope to give Malaysia's rising girl group a stage of its own.

"More than just mere performers, Dolla members have proven to us that hustling and dreaming big are what it takes to make it on your own, something all up-and-coming artistes can aspire to," he says.

CREATING MEMORIES

Meanwhile, Tabby, whose full name is Tabitha Ariel Lam Lianne, says that she hopes the first concert will become a memorable experience for all those who attend.

"Especially for iDollas who will be there, we hope to create beautiful memories together.

"The goal is for them to have fun while creating memories that will last forever."

The 24-year-old adds: "We promise to put on an amazing show and create the best experience for our beloved fans.

"So, be ready to be brought into Dolla's world!"

Fellow band member Angel, born Angelina Chai Ka Ying, shares the same sentiment about the upcoming concert.

"This latest project will mark a new era for us. Think of it as the rebirth of Dolla.

"As such, we're preparing new and fresh arrangements of our songs for the performance that evening," elaborates the 23-year-old artiste.

To her fans and those planning to attend the concert, she promises a performance that nobody has seen them put up before, which will be an emotional and impactful experience for all, especially for the band's beloved iDollas.

BOLD NEW VISION

Sabronzo adds: "This rebirth will hold a bold new vision, an evolution that will capture the essence of who we are today.

"We're stepping into unchartered territory, but with a lot of confidence, to embrace change, and to push boundaries like never before.

"So all of you out there, get ready to witness a new era of Dolla.

"This isn't just a concert, but a statement of our dedication to always grow and reach out to the limitless opportunities.

"We're excited to have everyone on our journey of re-defining Dolla," she says, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

'Dolla — Re:Birth The Experience' concert will be staged at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Aug 3.
