PEOPLE are advised to be cautious about thieves impersonating Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) employees or its contractors.
This followed media reports on a man who pretended to be a TNB officer checking electricity meters, and broke into at an old folk’s home in Kuala Lumpur.
TNB senior general manager (corporate communication) Datuk Omar Sidek said TNB personnel were obliged to wear the official uniform of red T-shirt and blue jackets with the company’s logo emblazoned on them during meter checks.
“They are also required to take their staff identification tag during meter checks on TNB users’ premises.”
Omar said: “Official checks
by TNB usually will not require
the officers to enter the
premises.”
