TH Properties bags 'Best New Hotel Construction and Design' International Award

LONDON: TH Properties Sdn Bhd’s Hotel and Convention Centre Kuching has bagged the ‘Best New Hotel Construction and Design’ International Award at the International Property Awards 2017 here.

The property development arm of Malaysia’s Pilgrims Fund Board beat other projects, including Trump International Hotel Tower Vancouver, Canada and Pan Pacific London, UK.

Group Managing Director, Datuk Roszali Othman, said the award recognised the project’s exceptional architecture masterpiece which also featured the distinctive indigenous fabric, Pua Kumbu roof design.

“TH Properties’ achievement at the International Property Awards underscores its commitment to innovation, high quality and the ability to execute projects with attention to detail,” he told reporters after receiving the award here last night.

He said the award was the highest recognition it received so far and served as an important yardstick of the progress that the company has made over the years.

“This put us on par with other developers in the world,” he said.

Earlier, the project was also crowned as Asia-Pacific winner for the same category which enabled it to compete for the international award.

He said the recognition followed TH Properties’ recent triple wins at Asia-Pacific Property Awards in Bangkok in May whereby TH Hotel and Convention Centre Kuching bagged Best New Hotel Construction and Design Malaysia.

Other winnings are the Bay Pavilions in Sydney, Australia for Best Apartment Australia and the Islamic Complex Putrajaya for Best Office Development Malaysia.

The award, organised by the International Property Media Group and participated by 116 countries, focused on quality of design, construction and presentation of individual properties and property developments, interiors, architecture and marketing.

As many as 1,000 entries from over 300 companies were submitted across a wide range of property disciplines and divided into 10 regional areas – Africa, Asia-Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, UK and US. -- Bernama
