KUALA LUMPUR: Bestinet Sdn Bhd has become the sole Malaysian company to receive a prestigious award for a digital project at the World Summit Awards ceremony in Vienna, Austria recently beating over 400 entries from 180 countries.
Chief executive officer Ismail Mohd Noor said the recognition, received under the Government and Citizen Engagement category, is for a digital project for the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System, also known as MIGRAMS (FWCMS/MIGRAMS).
He said the project also recognised as the 40 best digital projects in the world that helps meet the United Nations' (UN) sustainable development goals.
"Bestinet is recognised among the best of 39 projects from 24 countries which displayed world best practices in digital innovation by impacting the community through FWCMS/MIGRAMS.
"This award is another recognition to the company in digital innovation.
"FWCMS/MIGRAMS is a system that highlights four key components of safety, health, welfare and compliance in a unified single management system, benefiting all stakeholders.
"We are confident that we are striving to be the best information technology service provider in Malaysia and globally," he said.
FWCMS / MIGRAMS is a fully online and a holistic system designed to assist users and stakeholders in compliance and regulatory processes related to migrant workers from selecting, recruiting, regular management, monitoring and ensuring that workers return safely.
FWCMS / MIGRAMS's research and development faced its own challenges and was developed over a long period of time in collaboration involving more than 13 countries and authorities.
