Zoho Corp to expand operations in Asia Pacific

KUALA LUMPUR: Indian software development company Zoho Corporation Pte Ltd is expanding its operations in the Asia Pacific region including Malaysia, following demand from small and medium-sized enterprises, said Chief Evangelist Raju Vegesna.

He said the company wants to help local businesses by increasing the productivity level which would later translate into higher economic returns for the nation.

“By using one application it could make someone become productive, but when you use two tools (applications) your business can be more productive.

“That’s where one plus one becomes three. We currently have 40 tools that can work together, supporting all kinds of businesses and industry namely construction, real estate, accounting and others,” he told reporters.

Today, the company with 35 million users globally, launched its all-in-one suite Zoho One app in the Asia Pacific region to accelerate digital transformation of local businesses for US$30 per month, per employee.

Zoho, the operating system for business, provides a single cloud platform with all the necessary applications to run a business entirely from the cloud.

Businesses can acquire and manage customers using Zoho’s marketing, sales and customer support applications, and can empower employees to create, store and distribute content in the cloud.

Raju said Malaysia is the fourth country in the Asia Pacific region that contributes to its revenue, and local businesses, be they small or big companies, have utilised the company’s apps.

He refused to disclose the names of the companies, but revealed that Singapore-based technology company GrabTaxi Holdings Pte Ltd or Grab is one of the clients.

Next, Zoho plans to meet the Malaysian government and suggest its agencies to leverage on the cloud platform.

“We haven’t started that meeting with the government agency but we do have that in our plans,” he said.

Vice President and General Manager Asia Pacific, Gibu Mathew, said the Asia Pacific region is seeing many government initiatives that encourage SMEs to go digital and embrace innovation.

“This has hence become an important market for us, and we are increasing our investment here. Zoho One puts all the software you need to run a business online and turns it into an accessible business utility.

“This means that businesses of any size and type can run all their operations online. Its incredible value and ease of use lowers the barriers to adoption of technology and eases the journey to digital transformation for companies,” he said.
