Utusan Melayu chairman resigns, board changes announced

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir has resigned from his post as the executive chairman of Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd to focus on his other business commitments.

His resignation was announced by Utusan in a statement to Bursa Malaysia this evening.

Aziz is a former Member of Parliament for Kulim-Bandar Bahru and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Indiana University, Indiana, USA.

Separately, Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, who was Member of the Parliament for Kuala Selangor, has been appointed to the board of Utusan.

Utusan also announced the redesignation of independent director Datuk Dr Ibrahim Yahaya, a former press secretary to United Malays National Organisation (Umno) president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as executive director.
