UCrest to jointly provide online medical services for global patients

KUALA LUMPUR: UCrest Bhd is collaborating with private hospitals in China and global medical institutions and specialists to provide online advance medical services and personal healthcare management to patients globally.

UCrest today said it had inked a strategic partnership with China Non-Government Medical Institutions Association to jointly establish an International Online Medical Services platform.

"The association is set up by the government to promote the development of the private healthcare industry in China and to elevate the level of technology and quality of services of the private hospitals.

"Both parties will actively accelerate the adoption of online medical services using iMedic for chronic disease management by the member hospitals of the association," it added.

Leveraging on the global resources of UCrest, the association would promote of use of advance medical technologies to the private hospitals and to facilitate foreign investment or joint venture with the private hospitals to ensure long term development and success in China, it said.

UCrest said as of early 2019, there was a total of 33,000 hospitals in China, of which 21,000 were private hospitals.

Healthcare spending in China this year is estimated to be 5.64 trillion renminbi US$805 billion) with over six billion patient visits expected and forecasted to be RM18.04 trillion (US$2.53 trillion) by 2035.

Over the past 12 months, UCrest said it had conducted iMedicTM Digital Health Workshops and certified over 500 high level medical professionals from China including senior officials from Ministry of Health, CXO and senior medical professionals from the hospitals including Traditional Chinese Medicine specialists.

"This strategic alliance with the association will not only help to accelerate the adoption of online medical services amongst the member hospitals, it is also a platform for the collaboration and knowledge exchange between doctors in China and the rest of the world," said Eg Kah Yee, chairman of UCrest.

"Our goal is to facilitate the global hospitals or doctors to participate in the fast-growing market in China. Similarly, the doctors in China will also be able to extend their services to the patients outside of China," he added.
