KUALA LUMPUR: Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd (DLMI), a subsidiary of Royal FrieslandCampina, has contracted Royal HaskoningDHV to develop its new environmental-friendly and innovative production facility in Malaysia.
Royal HaskoningDHV is an international engineering and project management consultancy.
The company's scope will include design, procurement, construction management, commissioning and start-up of the facility, as well as assistance in the transfer from the existing factory to the new facilities at Bandar Enstek in Negri Sembilan.
Quality, safety, health, environment and sustainability would be at the heart of the design of the new factory, DLMI managing director Tarang Gupta said in a statement today.
"As Malaysia's leading dairy company, I'm very excited to partner Royal HaskoningDHV to build our new production facility that will revolutionise our supply chain processes to enable us to produce DLMI's range of nutritional products, with the added scalable capacity to manufacture other innovative variations in the future driven by consumer trends and occasions."
DMLI said the new production facility would empower it to grow further and contribute to the development of the Malaysian economy and the local dairy sector.
The state-of-the-art factory would also help increase Negri Sembilan's competitiveness to attract new investments and to create new spin-off economic benefits to the local economy as well as to vendors, it added.
Royal HaskoningDHV director (business unit multinationals) René Dahmen said both the company and Royal FrieslandCampina would tap on their 140 years' experience to design an agile plant that would help DLMI further grow its footprint in Malaysia.
