MTD completes London's One Crown Place development

KUALA LUMPUR: MTD Group has completed the construction of a £518 million One Crown Place in London's EC2.

MTD, in a statement today, said the construction milestone was delivered ahead of schedule.

It said following a successful construction phase, the mixed-use scheme on the fringes of the City of London had now been completed by MACE, a global construction and consultancy firm and main contractor for One Crown Place.

"With the completion earlier than anticipated despite the project's unique design that represented a complex construction challenge, the landmark address of One Crown Place will leave a lasting legacy for London," it said.

MTD Group head of international real estate and properties and AMTD London Development Co Ltd director Tee Kim Siew said the project was a major milestone for the group.

"This is an incredible achievement in the current circumstances and one that is borne out of the benefits of 'One Team' culture.

"With One Crown Place, we've brought a new vibrant destination to life, creating a new live- work hub in an enviable location that is not just Monday-Friday, nine-to-five. We look forward to introducing One Crown Place to the Capital," he said.

MTD said build works had begun onsite at the distinctive development in April 2018, and One Crown Place's northernmost building "topped-out" in Autumn 2019, followed by the southernmost building in early 2020.

The interior fit-out of the apartments and the hotel fit-out commenced in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

MTD said the development had set a new standard of architecture for the London skyline.

Two prismatic towers host 246 private apartments, rising 28 and 33 storeys into the sky, with beautifully crafted contemporary interiors from Bowler James Brindley.

At ground level stands a six-storey building - home to 10,650 sq m of high-quality office space, with a dedicated office reception designed by Design Haus Liberty, and a variety of retail units, whilst a boutique hotel and members' club occupies the fully restored Georgian terrace on Sun Street.
