KUALA LUMPUR: Handal Energy Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Handal Cranes Sdn Bhd, has bagged a five-year contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI).
The integrated services provider to the oil and gas (O&G) industry said the contract, in which Handal Cranes will provide crane operation and maintenance services, will be from June 15, 2021, until June 14, 2026.
The contract does not carry a specified value as it is running on a call-out basis.
Handal group managing director Sunildeep Dhaliwal said the contract win is a strong testament that demonstrates the strength of the company working relationship with EMEPMI in the last 26 years, since 1995.
"Over the last 26 years, we have managed a wide range of operational work scopes, which includes the provision of onshore overhaul, major repair, and refurbishment services for offshore cranes, as well as to provide pipeline isolation services to ensure EMEPMI's operational efficiencies.
"We are proud of the fact that Handal has been able to continue the working journey with them from the new contract wins," he said.
Sunildeep expects the contract to contribute positively to its earnings for the financial year 2022 until 2026.
"Relying on our core skills and leveraging our experience, our business is going from strength to strength.
"We are excited for this opportunity to serve ExxonMobil again and look forward to building on these efforts for the coming years," he said.
ExxonMobil is one of the major crude oil producers and suppliers of natural gas in Malaysia.
It operates under four production sharing contracts (PSCs) with the Malaysian national oil company, Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), producing about one-fifth of its oil production and one-half natural gas suppliers Peninsular Malaysia.
