KUALA LUMPUR: Swedish automaker Volvo Car Malaysia Sdn Bhd (VCM) has appointed Charles Frump as its new managing director.
Frump will continue the responsibilities of the current Nalin Jain, who previously served as managing director from 2019 to 2020.
Before this undertaking, Frump was the managing director of Volvo Auto India.
Frump's association with Volvo Cars dates back to 2009, where he worked as the marketing director in Volvo Car Japan.
He has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and also held global, regional, and local roles in marketing, sales, customer service and network management.
"I am excited to embark on a new chapter of my journey with Volvo in a new market.
"I see Malaysia as a crossroad of the places I have been in the past, and I look forward to working closely with the local team, individual by individual, to build our strengths," said Frump.
As the company strives towards a more sustainable future, Frump will also play a key part in spearheading VCM as the leader in premium electric vehicles in Malaysia.
Frump holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Marketing from UCLA Anderson School of Management, Los Angeles, USA.
He completed his bachelor's in economics and mathematics from St Olaf College, Minnesota, USA.
