KUALA LUMPUR: The EX30, a fully electric SUV from Swedish carmaker Volvo, will be launched soon in Malaysia.
Featuring the fastest acceleration of any Volvo car to date, the EX30 comes equipped with the latest technology that powers a new automatic parking feature, a contextual user interface with Google Built-in, upgraded semi-autonomous Pilot Assist functionality, and 360° environmental awareness from its multiple cameras, sensors and radars.
The EX30 was designed, tested, and built with significant attention to detail, using inspiration that every moment matters from making the car to driving it.
Its compact proportions are perfect for urban driving with a surprising amount of smarter storage space, plus new active safety technology features to keep drivers, passengers and other road users safe.
Apart from producing zero tailpipe emissions, it has been developed with a focus on keeping its carbon footprint to a minimum across the car's complete lifecycle.
In addition to cutting its CO2 footprint to 75 per cent of Volvo's existing electric models, the EX30 also features the highest levels of recycled and sustainable material in a Volvo production car.
The EX30 has already won more than 20 major accolades, winning the prestigious Car Design Award 2024 by Auto & Design magazine, being named the 2024 World Urban Car at the World Car Awards, and receiving the prestigious Best of the Best Product Design 2024 at the Red Dot Design Award.
Since its release, the EX30 has rapidly proven to be a very popular car with Volvo's customers. Volvo expects it to be one of its best-selling models this year, with almost 48,000 cars delivered globally in the first half of 2024.
"The Volvo EX30 embodies Volvo Cars' design values and is a showcase in premium Scandinavian design where form follows function," said Jim Rowan, chief executive officer of Volvo Cars.
"The EX30 shows the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo car to date and is designed to be as safe as you'd expect from a Volvo car. It is packed with cutting edge technology and a perfect fit for today's market as a growing number of car buyers switch to electric cars," he added.
