KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Calvin Yap Kim Heng of CHY Autoworld Sdn Bhd or better known as Malaysia Car King has sold a Maserati Ghibli Sports car and accepted payment of 300,000 Meta Nirvana Up (MNU) digital currency, valued at around RM310,000.
The vehicle's emblem is a trident and was associated with Ferrari. Maserati Ghibli was the same car model used by Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious 7.
Furthermore, Maserati Quattroporte IV was used by James Bond in Spectre.
Yap said this was the maiden MNU-car swap transaction in Malaysia.
"We accept MNU for all our cars including Telsa. Elon Musk has made cryptocurrency to be booming. All our properties, yachts and private jets can also be transacted in MNU as it is a very promising latest public chain currency, which would be used in many points of sales worldwide.
"We are property agents to top developers in Malaysia such as Farlim Holdings, Mah Sing Property Bhd, Akisama Groups, Binastra Group and GCE Developments Sdn Bhd.
"We accept MNU and all other cryptocurrencies from buyers as agents and pay ringgit to those developers," he said in a statement today.
The proud new owner of the Italian luxury vehicle, Datuk Seri Lee Han Keat of Top Metaverse Group Sdn Bhd said Nirvana Meta is the world's first public blockchain RPG game and has become very popular all over the world.
"More and more people have begun to pay attention to the gaming industry. The meta-universe does not only exist in the virtual space.
"The meta-universe will be a physical internet, realising the realism of the virtual world. The emergence of GameFi has brought development opportunities to the field of technology," he said.
GameFi is the combination of video games and decentralised finance (DeFi).
The technology used for this type of game is blockchain technology, which allows players to be the sole and verified owners of the virtual elements of the game.
Apart from Malaysian car king, a US Nasdaq listed company, Net Savings Link Inc (NSAV) has also recognised and accepted MNU digital currency for all its sales and transactions.
NSAV chief executive officer Datuk Desmond Lim Kong Sheng said currently, MNU is traded on the decentralised exchanges, such as UniSwap and PancakeSwap.
From December 25, 2021, onwards, MNU will be traded in the ZB trading platform, which is the most popular cryptocurrency trading platform of China and currently ranks as the top 10 cryptocurrency trading platform in the world.
"MNU is also expected to be trading on NSAV exchange in January next year," he added.
